REPORT ASICS PARIS LAUNCH
The Asics crew came to Paris last weekend to officially start their skate program for France. A launch in two stages which consisted of an evening organized at the Montgolfière and a session at Bastille the next day.
On Friday evening, they gave the oppotunity to the public to discover Chase Walker’s great video project “Asics QUADRENNIUM”, an edit filmed captured in Marseille and Paris – btw an interview about the project is coming soon- with the international team and the frenchies represented by Jeanne Duval, Marca, Victor Campillo accompanied by his friends from Marseille. Based on the cheers, the video was greatly appreciated. In the applause meter game, our friend Stan’s appearance. He is so creative on his board.
The rest of the festivities were supposed to take place the next day at the Bastille Plaza. For the occasion, the place was pimped with modules built by Croyde Mirandon and his team. An impressive huba, a brand new bench, a triangle curb and a fairly gnarly rail had been placed to ensure a quality Open Session but that was without taking into account of the very capricious Parisian weather. Despite all the efforts of the guys from Bad Brains Agency who participated in the organization of the event and the Asics team, the rain disrupted the event which was finally postponed and moved next day. On Sunday, the crews came back and blew down the temporary installations. Among the cool shits, Kieran Woolley had a blast on the big hubba with a bs nose blunt, the Vic sent some tasty lines and Trung Nguyen landed a wild fs board all along the rail. Fabulous.
FYI, the bench and the triangle curb at the corner of the manny table will remain since they were generously offered by Asics.
