FRENDZ

Gontran Bouthemy has just released a video showcasing the skate scene in Angers. On this occasion, he shared a few words to introduce his project:
“FRENDZ is more than just a skate video; it’s a collection of memories from a group of friends. Over a year and a half, we filmed between Angers and Paris, mainly capturing the local Angers skate scene along with a few guests. The goal wasn’t just to show tricks but to convey an atmosphere—the spirit of a crew. The project recounts two significant years during which our group came together. For some of us, it was a pivotal time. Some come from Le Mans, like me. We filmed our first street videos together, progressed together—both in skateboarding and filming—and eventually found ourselves in Angers.
This project is also a way to highlight Angers, to showcase the local scene, and to show the skate world that things are happening here, that there’s real energy. Every skater in the video brought their own touch, style, and vision. I want to thank them all: Thomas Dorbeau, Gabriel Loiseau, Arthur Argoulon, Nicolas Fradin, Adam Muller, Hugo Barra, Simon Chevalier, Kanya Spani, Ewen Allain, Antoine Choisnet, Benoît Henry, Joseph Chanteau, Ryan Lodjro, Evann Trabac, Paul Malnoe, Félix Docteur, Issa Lelièvre, Thao Samyn.
Next year, we’re all going to split up a bit, each moving to different cities. This video is also a way for us to leave a mark. You’ll see it for yourself, but it’s also about breaking the negative image some people still have of skateboarding. We’re not here to disturb or damage anything—we just want to have fun and share what we’re passionate about.

FRENDZ is the skate project I’m most proud of, and the positive feedback only pushes me to go even further.”
